Journal of Applied Finance

The mission of the Journal of Applied Finance (JAF) is twofold: (1) to encourage and disseminate academic research that is relevant to practice, and (2) to advance the frontiers of relevant academic research through academic and practitioner forums of all types and through hypothesis generation leading to research relevant to practice.

JAF seeks to be the leading bridging journal between practitioners and academics.

JAF is published semi-annually each Spring and Autumn.

Issue #2, 2013, featured Living with Noise: Valuation in the Face of Uncertainty, the 2013 Applied Finance Conference Keynote Address by Aswath Damodaran, New York University, presentations from the 2013 Conference and articles looking at current issues in mortgage finance, valuation, mutual funds, cash flow metrics, and shocks in VIX.

2014 APPLIED FINANCE CONFERENCE – May 16, 2014 – St. John's University, New York City
Co-sponsored by St. John's University and JAF
The Fourth Annual Applied Finance Conference of the Financial Management Association International (FMA) will be held Friday, May 16, 2014, at St. John's University's Manhattan campus. The Conference is much smaller and more focused than the FMA’s traditional meetings and includes a relatively small number of papers to provide ample opportunity for presentations and discussion by participants.

The 2014 Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Paul M. Healy, James R. Williston Professor of Business Adminstration and Senior Associate Dean for Research at the Harvard Business School.

The paper submission deadline was Friday, January 3, 2014. The conference program and registration details will be available in February, 2014.
